2025 JOIN OUR COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS ALTAR CONTEST

Celebrate the rich tradition of Día de los Muertos, and honor loved ones by participating in our 2nd Annual Community Organization Altar Contest. Showcase your creativity and cultural expressions in this meaningful community event! The winning organization will receive a donation towards their group/organization. There is no fee to enter.

This is a community voting contest.  Voting will open on-site during the event and will remain open online until Friday, November 7, 2025. All altar photos will be uploaded onto our event site for voting opportunities from the public.  Voters can vote 1 time each day until the duration of the contest.

After reviewing the guidelines below, if you decide to move forward with entering our Altar Contest, you’ll be guided to our submissions at the bottom of this page.

Due to capacity, we will have to limit the number of participating organizations, so hurry and be one of the first to join!

 Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: Submission Deadline: by October 10, 2025, by 6 pm (MST) 
  • Notification of Acceptance: by October 17, 2025
  • Altar Building Timeframe: November 1st, 2025, Time TBD, but we’re looking between 10 am and 5 pm
  • Event Date and Hours: November 1, 2025, 7 pm – 11 pm
  • Altar Breakdown: November 1, 2025, 11:30 pm
  • Community Altar Online Voting Concludes: November 7, 2025

ABOUT YOUR ALTAR

Please provide a brief description of your altar's theme and the story or memories it represents.
Please estimate the number of people from your organization who will participate.

MATERIALS

Each person/group is responsible for the construction & cost of their own Altar. Materials and Items to be used (You will be provided with a 6’ x 4’ indoor space. Tarps, tents, or canopies are not allowed).
Please provide a list of the main materials and items you plan to use for your altar.

AGREEMENTS

By submitting the form, you hereby confirm that all information provided is accurate and that your organization agrees to comply with all event guidelines and regulations, including the prohibition of open flames. You understand that failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in disqualification from the contest.
